The Reporting & Assurance Team assists members in maintaining their technical competence in the areas of financial and non-financial reporting, audit and assurance, as well as in areas such as advocacy and submissions.  
 
The Institute’s Reporting & Assurance Team comprises:

The Institute's Reporting & Assurance Helpline  
The team staffs a member only telephone and email helpline to deal with members' enquiries in the areas of reporting, audit and assurance. Please note that the above webpage is member login only.  
 
Accounting & Assurance News Today (ANT) 
Our free financial reporting and assurance newsletter ANT is distributed to subscribers each Friday, providing an update on the latest developments. 
 
Other reporting and assurance publications 
The team sources and authors technical content for the Institute’s monthly magazine Charter and for our fortnightly e-bulletins. 
 
Website 
The team helps to maintain the Financial Reporting and Auditing & Assurance sections of the Institute website which provides latest news and access to a range of financial reporting and assurance resources for our members.  
 
Submissions 
The team prepares submissions on accounting, and auditing and assurance exposure drafts, incorporating members’ views for submission to Australian and international standard setters, regulators and legislators. 
 
Corporate Reporting Discussion Group 
The Institute's Sydney office hosts a Corporate Reporting Discussion Group (CRDG) which meets bimonthly on Mondays. Melbourne is about to host its own CRDG. Those members interested in attending a Melbourne CRDG should register by following the instructions on our dedicated Melbourne CRDG webpage
 
Training & Development 
The team hosts a members in business discussion group and provides input and staff resources to the Institute’s training and development initiatives 
 
Emerging issues  
The team is involved in preparing and organising position papers on emerging issues in reporting and assurance. These issues currently include XBRL, environmental reporting and related assurance needs. 
 
Liaison 
The team liaises with major financial reporting and auditing stakeholders (standard-setters, regulators and users) on members’ behalf.
