These solutions include Charter, e-Bulletins and the Institute’s website as well as training courses, which also include in-house and live online training.

The competencies are divided into four sections, which include:

  • Technical

“The national and state-based panels were in favour of the framework. They consider it an excellent initiative which could become a powerful tool for members in business,” said Karen McWilliams, Manager of Chartered Accountants in Business.

The competency requirements, which can be found on the dedicated members in business dashboard, were developed using the information paper produced by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) committee entitled The roles and domain of the professional accountant in business. The paper was developed to provide a definition of the professional accountant in business, and to ensure that the operational, strategic planning, decision making and risk management processes are in place.
